I was commissioned by Watts of Westminster, a traditional wallpaper and textile company, to design a collection of wallpapers to be inspired by Victorian and Edwardian church embroideries held in the company's archives. The papers were initially printed in a traditional manner using surface print. I was asked to adapt them to digital print, three designs (Leaf, Vine and Bud) are now available to buy through www.wallpapered.com

LEAF
There was so much in these embroideries that each time I looked at them again, I found something new to work from. The flowers and foliage are exotic, the detail incredible and the variety in stitching gives a wonderful three dimensional quality. My challenge was to retain this richness, while creating a more contemporary and light aesthetic & this has been brought to life by sophisticated new printing technologies.
