How to change the image of a material?
Cork has a dowdy and utilitarian image.
This selection of cork surface-changed samples explored ways of altering the surface through the use of silkscreen printing, foiling, flocking and laser etching.

Cork is a highly renewable material.  The survival of cork forests hangs in the balance due to lower demand for wine corks. Cork oak forests also host a rich diversity of fauna, animals and birds.
